Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Millwright I to support the Maintenance functions of our high-volume lumber mill operation. As part of a large-scale team committed to continuous improvement, this role will play a key part in supporting our workforce by maintaining smooth day-to-day equipment operations.
Job Requirements:
- Repair hydraulic and pneumatic systems throughout the plant
- Troubleshoot and repair AC and DC electrical systems
- Have extensive knowledge on safe and proper use of oxygen and acetylene welding and cutting equipment/arc welding equipment
- Trouble shoot, repair and/or rebuild sawmill equipment
- Use computer operating systems of various sawmill equipment
- Read schematics in order to fabricate parts and equipment
- Desire to understand and operate computer operating systems for various mill equipment
- Required to have necessary hand tools to complete most repairs
- Must be able to handle hazardous waste according to company policy and have knowledge of all legal requirements
- Must be able to follow written and oral instructions
- Must follow all fall protection and lockout/tagout procedures
- Work in a safe and cooperative manner with all team members
- Keep work area clean and orderly at all times
- Must be willing to work overtime, weekends and holidays when necessary
Qualifications:
- High school diploma or equivalent required; Technical training degree/certificate preferred
- 3+ years’ experience in a Maintenance role
- Ability to troubleshoot, repair and/or rebuild sawmill equipment
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong interpersonal skills for interacting positively with all people inside and outside our organization
- Team-oriented mindset with a proactive attitude
- Related industry or sawmill experience preferred
- Must have a valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
